The automotive supplier industry in Saxony 2025

The automotive supplier industry in Saxony 2025

January 2017

Second part of the joint study on behalf of the Free State of Saxony

The automotive industry is developing rapidly. Far-reaching changes are coming to the industry through market, product and process innovations at the same time and at a breathtaking pace. This topic also moves the “Autoland Saxony”, in which the automobile construction with over 81,000 employees (of which approx. 60,000 in the supplier industry) represents a key economic sector. Against this background, the Saxon State Ministry for Economics, Labor and Transport has commissioned the Chemnitz Automotive Institute (CATI) together with the Network Automotive Supply Industry (AMZ) to analyze future automotive trends and evaluate their effects on the supplier industry in Saxony.

After a trend analysis that was published in summer 2016, the impact analysis for the region is now also available, which was also published as a special publication by the magazine “Autoland Sachsen” (issue 1-2017).
